▸ Seawool polyester is made from wasted oyster shell fiber and recycled polyester. It has a wool-like handfeel and wicking, warming, and deodorizing property.
Seawool® Fiber
Seawool® Fiber is compounded with recycled PET bottles, the nanolized shell powder makes the normal polyester valuable. Seawool® yarn surface is embedded in tiny pieces of scales that come from nanolized oyster shell powder under the microscope. The scales simulate the woolen touch, making it different from regular synthetic polyester.
Seawool® has a thermal conductivity – 0.044 which is almost less than half as high as PET – 0.084. It means that Seawool® is a better insulator than polyester. The surface of the oyster shell is a mound-like porous structure after the calcination treatment, facilitating the absorption of the odor caused by sweat.
